The fight card

Charity Fight Night for men's mental health, Saturday 12 December 2026, Last Man Standing Brewery

Every bout on the night, how each rivalry started and what both fighters have to say about it. Pick your corner, then get a seat to watch it settled.

These match ups are examples to show how the page works. Real bouts go up here as fighters are matched and both say yes.

How it started: The school captain vote, 1994

Joe and Benny both ran for school captain in Year 12. Benny won by three votes. Joe has asked for a recount at every reunion since, and Benny has said no at every reunion since. Thirty years on, they are settling it with gloves.

"Thirty years I've waited for a recount. This time it's gloves, not votes."
Joe Russo
"I won fair and square in '94. Happy to win again in front of everyone."

How it started: The scrum that collapsed

Tom and Luke packed down against each other at prop in the 2003 colts grand final. The scrum went down on the last play, the penalty decided the game, and each of them still says the other one dropped it.

"Everyone at the club knows he dropped it. Now they get to watch me prove it."
Tom Hayes
"Twenty-three years of hearing about one scrum. I'm ending the conversation."

Dave Mills
"Eleven years of carrying him on shift. One more night won't hurt."

How it started: Twelve years over one fence

Matt and Sam have lived either side of the same fence for twelve years. Whose turn it is to fix it, whose dog started it and who mows at 6am on a Sunday have never been settled.

"He can keep the fence. I just want the last word."
Matt Cole
"I'll fix the fence after I win. Maybe."
